About IELTS Speaking Part 1 practice
Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test is a four-to-five-minute interview about familiar subjects such as your hometown, work or studies, hobbies, and daily life. This practice mode gives you an introduction plus three random topics, with a 30-second target per answer. Aim for two to four natural sentences: answer directly, then add a reason, a detail, or a short example.
How the practice works
Press Start and speak. The examiner reads each question aloud and your answer timer starts automatically, just like the real interview; press Next when you finish early, or Pause at any time. If you allow recording, audio stays in your browser and is never uploaded, and you can listen back to every answer at the end. SpeakingIELTS does not predict band scores; use the self-evaluation checklist to review your answers, browse all IELTS Speaking topics and questions, or read about the free IELTS mock test.
