For teachers and tutors

Free IELTS Speaking resources for teachers

Give your students more speaking time between lessons. SpeakingIELTS is free, needs no student accounts, and keeps recordings on the student's own device. Use the links below to set specific questions as homework.

Speaking homework in three steps

  1. Pick a question from the lists below and copy its practice link.
  2. Students answer under exam timing on their phone or computer and can download their recording.
  3. Students send you the recording (or play it in class) for feedback using the public speaking criteria.

Ready-made class activities

  • Warm-up (5 min): project today's question and have pairs answer the Part 1 questions.
  • Cue card relay (15 min): students plan for one minute using a cue card page, then speak for two minutes while a partner times them and ticks off the bullet points.
  • Sample answer analysis (15 min): students read a sample answer and highlight linking phrases, tense changes and topic vocabulary, then answer the same card in their own words.
  • Self-review homework: students record a full mock and complete the self-evaluation checklist before your next lesson.

Shareable practice links: Part 2 cue cards

Each link opens a timed session with one minute of preparation and two minutes of speaking on that card. The page link includes a sample answer and is printable.
