About IELTS Speaking Part 3 discussion practice

Part 3 is a four-to-five-minute discussion of broader, more abstract questions connected to the Part 2 topic. This mode asks linked discussion questions with about 45 seconds per answer. Give a clear opinion, explain your reasons, compare situations or time periods, and consider another point of view.

How the practice works

Choose whether to record before you begin. If you record, audio stays in your browser and is never uploaded. After each answer you can play back your recording and choose one focus for the next question, such as fewer pauses or more developed ideas.
