IELTS Speaking Part 1: Books
Book questions let you show vocabulary for genres and opinions. Name a type of book, give an example, and explain why you like it.
Books questions
- Do you like reading books?
- What kinds of books do you like to read?
- What is the best book you've ever read?
- Is reading books a popular activity in your country?
- Do you think that electronic books, or eReaders are better than real books?
Sample answers
Do you like reading books?
Yes, I do, although I read less than I'd like to because of work. I usually manage a chapter or two before bed, and I always take a book with me on holiday.
Do you think that electronic books, or eReaders are better than real books?
I think both have advantages. E-readers are great for travelling, since you can carry hundreds of books, and you can adjust the text size. But personally I prefer real books; I like turning the pages, and I find I remember what I've read better on paper.
